Yeah, I'm guessing that was it. I'm not 100% sure why, but what happened is
that I imported the last 2 months of data to start with. After I messed
around with the trial, I decided to import the rest of this year. This threw
off the entire balance calculation.

I've since upgraded my trial to Money 2007 and imported the entire year in
one shot. It's all working correctly now.

Thanks for the info,

Jason

While I don't use Essentials, I am wondering if the Opening balance
was off somehow.

I don't have Essentials installed myself, but am comparing it to the
Essentials view of an account in Deluxe

So, when you click the Adjustments link at the top right to open the
Adjustments transactions list, there is nothing showing?
Are you only showing 30 days worth of data? Change the Show Transactions
From to All Dates

Therein lies the problem. There are no adjustments. Or, at least, there's
nothing listed in the adjustment register. I haven't added any yet.

After you've confirmed that the Adjustment has cleared the bank and is now
in the transaction list, check the "cleared" box next to the transaction and
then click the Deleted Cleared Transactions.

Default Money Essentials Adjusted Balance ?

Hi there,

I'm just getting started with Money Essentials 2007 and I have a question
about the Account List screen. I'm seeing both a Bank Balance and an
Adjusted Balance. I understand the idea behind this (non-cleared items will
modify the adjusted balance without affecting the actual account balance)...
However, my adjusted balance is over twice the size of my actual balance and
I don't have any bills, checks, etc added. This is a straight import direct
from my bank account.

If I bring up the actual account register for this account, the bank balance
and adjusted balance match. Can someone please explain this to me? I've
tried repairing the money file per the suggestion in the help file, but that
made no difference.

Thoughts?
