Essentials is a very cut down version of the fully fledged versions of
Money. I suspect that what you are seeing is an effect of the "cutting
down".

If I am right you really need one of the more feature rich versions. Whilst
not specifically addressing your problem
http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/419.aspx gives an indication of just how
cut down Essentials is.
