Let me add to Cal's reply so there is not a continuation of bad rumor
through this thread.

Money has never had a global requirement to store user information on a
Microsoft server. The two features that have required this ("Sync With The
Web"--which was removed by M07, and Third Party Downloads) have always been
optional features and the setup for these features has always made clear
that storing some of your data on a Microsoft server was a fundamental or
incidental consequence of using the feature in question.
