| Follow up... After a few more conversations with the bank, I think they might have got this thing fixed after all. I have had no more download problems as of late so far. Thanks. | Well shucks... Contacted the bank by phone about this, but they refused to help me. The web banking department is not equipped to handle a problem like this...And they could not offer any other advice or another contact. RBC Centura is not much of a bank in my opinion. | I still believe it is your bank and there are 2 things I would do. You probably have an option from the bank site to download into a qif file. I would download it and then open it in notepad. It will show you what transactions are actually being downloaded and this has nothing to do with Money. If that does not prove that it is your bank, then I would create a totally new file (not account) and see what info is downloaded and is it correct. -- Neil "rustyfender04" <rustyfender1[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ev2SblooHHA.3892[at]TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... - quote - > Hi Neil, > I have a choice to download all transaction on file, or only new > transactions since the last download (Which is the one I choose). > Money recognizes the duplicates for the most part, but just today I > downloaded the latest transactions (Which should have been three)...And > much to my suprise, I wound up getting twenty items instead! > Most of the transactions had red question marks assigned to them by Money, > but there were as few that Money tried to link to items that were already > reconciled (These items had a red exclamation mark assigned to them). > I am at a loss as to why this happens at Centura only...I just downloaded > the latest transactions at a different bank with no problems at all. > Could it be that Money 2004 is just too outdated? > "Remove ABCD from Email address to reply" <neil154ABCD[at]gmail.com> wrote in > message news:%23TLpjPGoHHA.3460[at]TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > > I believe this is the banks problem. | Hi Neil, I have a choice to download all transaction on file, or only new transactions since the last download (Which is the one I choose). Money recognizes the duplicates for the most part, but just today I downloaded the latest transactions (Which should have been three)...And much to my suprise, I wound up getting twenty items instead! Most of the transactions had red question marks assigned to them by Money, but there were as few that Money tried to link to items that were already reconciled (These items had a red exclamation mark assigned to them). I am at a loss as to why this happens at Centura only...I just downloaded the latest transactions at a different bank with no problems at all. Could it be that Money 2004 is just too outdated? | I believe this is the banks problem. The downloaded data is controlled by the bank. When you download, what choices do you have? Do you download from a certain date or since last connection? When download is completed does Money recognize the duplications? -- Neil "rustyfender04" <rustyfender1[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:u36wLGDoHHA.1000[at]TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... - quote - > Anybody?? > "rustyfender04" <rustyfender1[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:uQ8DAp%23nHHA.5052[at]TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > > Hi All, > > > Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? > > > I keep up with 3 checking accounts on my pc with Mny 2004. | Hi All, Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? I keep up with 3 checking accounts on my pc with Mny 2004. Two of the accounts are held at RBC Centura and another at a small local bank in town. I can only do manual downloads from each bank (Which is fine with me), but the Centura accounts tend to download duplicate transactions (That is, transactions that I have already downloaded & reconciled before) into Mny. I even tried creating a new file from scratch, but luck there either. I have contacted the bank via e-mail about this, but they are telling me to go and contact Microsoft instead. As most of you know, there is no more free support for this version of Mny so I am going to have find help elsewhere. I do not have this problem with the local bank...Only from Centura. Thanks. |
