I find that the problem where Fidelity was sending an OFX 2 header
with an OFX 1 body appears to be fixed.

Money 2004 Deluxe has
Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServices-> ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound

It probably is not going to solve your problems in either case, but
it is usually a good idea to select.

The control you quoted was from my response to your statement about
Money 2007.

The Fidelity QIF file is what you download for their transactions. I
go into transaction history and when selecting Money for the download
format, it sends a QIF file.

Money 2004 doesn't have a Tools | Settings option. I did go into
Tools | Options | Online Services but didn't find the features you
mentioned.

And in case you are doing direct OFX access, the problem may be left
over from your original file.

In Internet Explorer delete your browser temporary files with
Tools-> InternetOptions-> DeleteFiles or
Tools-> InternetOptions-> Delete-> DeleteFiles.

Then in Money do File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair again.

Then go to Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServiceSetting and
select ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. This
is a global (inter-file) setting.

Download again.

My info is from trying the direct OFX access, and my observation
does not apply to a QIF file. You had commented about a transaction
header error. I have not seen an error message that reports a
transaction header error. I had seen the OFX header from Fidelity to
Money 2004 be out of whack with the body actually sent.

Where did you get a Fidelity QIF file?

I tried to open the QIF file in Money 2007. It gives the same exact
error. Where did you get the information that it is specific to Money
2004?

If you go to a store like Costco, Sams, or Walmart you can probably
get a CD for less with no rebate.

Where are the rebates for an online purchase: http://www.microsoft.com/money/order.aspx?
If you click download now on the Deluxe version for example, it is
$49.99 instead of $29.99 and the rebate is $0.00.

Thanks. Guess it's time to finally do the upgrade. I've been
resisting because I don't like the Money 2007 look. But, I see only
more more problems coming if I stay with the older version. I beleive
at some point it won't be able to retreive bank info. That service
completely expires.

I am guessing that you mean the direct download of OFX. They have a
bug in their OFX for Money 2004 (but not for earlier or later
versions). They reportedly don't intend to fix it saying that Money
2004 will expires soon anyway..

Yes. The "it goes into a fund" part should be entered as Buy with
the cash coming from the cash account. Maybe you have been using
AddShares.

Default Directly from bank account into fund

I'm using MS Money 2004 Small Business. I have a Fidelity retirement
account. Any time I try to import their QIF file, I get a transaction
header error and nothing is imported. I use this exact same method
with Scottrade but their import works fine. Fidelity has no idea how
to resolve this. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have to manually enter in contributions. That's ok because when I
enter in my monthly payment from work, I do a split transaction and
send my % deduction to the Fidelity Cash Transactions account. From
there it goes into a fund. Is that correct?

The problem I'm having is that my Cash Transaction account has a
positive balance that grows every month. The employer does a match so
each month there are two contribution entries. The weird thing is
that my Fidelity funds have the correct amounts. If I could download
their QIF file, it would probably set everything straight.

Or, if I could go straight from my bank into a fund, it would help in
figuring out where the errors are. But having to go into a Cash
Transactions account first just adds to the complexity.

Does anyone have some suggestions on how I should set this up?
