If you do that, I would have the upon-exit backups go to a folder
that exists with the same path on each machine. Money 2006 or 2007
would save multiple backups that have the timestamp as part of the
filename. That way each machine would have 4 (or more if you change
the settings) backups.

that's kind of what I am doing right now, using a flashkey to backup and
transfer the backup file between the PCs.

I was thinking of finding an online app that would serve the purpose of the
flashkey, but I guess there isn't any out there tht can gurantee high
security.

Thing with flashdrives I find, they are easy to misplace or damange...

Have you considered keeping the file on a flashkey drive?

Thanks Dick for letting me know that. I did spend a little bit of time
looking for that feature

as for why do i need it on all 3 machines, the answer is simple. I am a
road worrier who spends majority of my time in transit, hence, I carry a tiny
laptop. I usually find the time to work on money matters in the plane or
during transit. So when I am back at home, I'd like to synch my info to my
main home PC, which has a larger monitor and better resolution. I do the same
at work, but that's only when i have the time. So if Money did have a synch
feature, I’d think it would help me a lot in this situation!

I'm not sure it EVER supported that. At any rate, the ability to put a
subset of your transaction data on the web has been removed from M07.

Well, Money itself has Online services such that your accounts and data
will be accessible from the Money website, and presumably synch to all
installations of Money you have - but I am sure most people in this
group would advise you against doing this.

I would actually ask a different question: why do you need money on all
of these machines, and why do they need to be in synch?

I would say the ideal way would be to designate one of the machines as
the Money machines and do all your book keeping there. But I am sure you
have a reason not to do it this way...

Have you considered designating the money file on the memory stick as
the master copy? The downside is that you always have to have it with
you, but the upside is you don't have to worry about keeping all the
machines in synch - you know that whatever machine you're on is looking
at the latest version, which is on the memory stick.

Just curious - why do you need Money on so many machines?

Default How to cope with using multiple PCs and MS money?

Hello, Just wondering what others are doing out there faced with similar
issues?

I have a Laptop, a work PC, and a Home PC which I have MS Money installed.
Everytime I update my MS money on my laptop (and fix changes), I need to go
and make a back up of it to a memory stick, and then update my 2 other PCs so
all 3 are in sync.

I thought the ideal way to synch up all my PCs would be to somehow do it
online, so elimating the memory stick. Does anyone know any secure services
out there that offer this kind of service? Btw, I have ms money 2007 home
and business ediion.
