Default Re: MS Money 2005 Standard

Money will surely allow you to enter transactions from any date. The issue
is probably the downloaded transactions and the 3 month limitation there is
usually a function of the banks involved, not Money.

Anyway, I'd suggest you create the accounts first and enter all of the back
history you want by hand before downloading anything. Start with statement
balances from December--use those as the account beginning balances when
defining the accounts--and then add the transactions from beyond those
statements. Once you get that done. then you can download transactions.

Alternately, you will just have to adjust the account beginning balance in
Account Details to compensate. Say it's presently set at $450.00 and the
total of all transactions that pre-date what you've already downloaded is
$150.00 (say $10,000 of deposits/credits and $9,850 of withdrawals/bills).
Adjust the starting balance downward by that $150.00 to $300.00 and enter
the $10,000 worth of deposits/credits and the $9,850 of withdrawals/bills.
Excel is frequently a quite helpful accessory to Money.

Default MS Money 2005 Standard

I had not entered any transactions in MS$ prior to now. I would like to be
able to enter all banking information, credit cards, etc dating back to
01/01/2007 for personal and tax purposes, being that MS$ only goes back 3
months. Does anyone know how I can manually enter that many multiple
transactions without altering the balances? Or is my only option to create a
'false' account and enter everything from beginning of the year to March 18,
2007?
