You could create such a category if you don't have one already. Put in a memo that this is a workaround for the spin-off handling. |

Presumably you used Money 2007 Deluxe or above. Work around the> and it spun-off a proportion of that so I now have shares of KFT. I > followed the wizard and it seemed to do everything properly. | I'm a bit confused on how to handle this. Recently I bought some MO and it spun-off a proportion of that so I now have shares of KFT. I followed the wizard and it seemed to do everything properly. But when looking at my portfolio holdings then, I noticed the balance had dropped by about 2K. In looking futher , I noticed this 2K was sitting in the "Contributions" section and was making my portfolio look like it was missing that 2K. When I click on "Edit", I see it used the "Add Shares" to add the spin-off shares. I don't know how to get the money out of Contributions and actually into my portfolio without changing the Add Shares to a "Buy" which would do the trick, but when I try that, Money pops up a warning about how this might mess with my basis, etc. Should I proceed anyway? I want my portfolio totals to be correct, obviously. Thanks, Mark |
