| I have tried that and it seems to be hit or miss. Some transactions subsequently update but most remain either add or buy unless I change them manually. | I believe that the downloads are OFX (that's what the Quicken downloads are), but I tried looking for the file that downloads into Money and couldn't locate it. Do you know what it will be called or what extension the file will have? | It is my experience that with certain Mutual Funds, the first time the item appears in the downloads it comes in as an add shares. If you do not accept the transaction and wait a day or two the download will generate a Buy (or Reinvest Dividend) transaction. -- Peace, BobJ "Mark" <abcd[at]abcd.com> wrote in message news:%235QGeOmjHHA.648[at]TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... - quote - > What format is the download from your broker? > If OFX, take a look at the contents of the file to verify that it has the > correct and proper transaction information (i.e. it is listed as a > BUYSTOCK and not an add shares). > -Mark > "JPG" <JPG[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F907A3AA-3B3D-4335-98BF-5121687CA9E6[at]microsoft.com... > > I am considering switching from Quicken to Money 2007 mostly because of > > the > > unreliability of the Intuit quotes service (I'm currently running both > > programs while I evaluate which I will stick with), but I've run into a > > problem with Money that is a significant negative. | What format is the download from your broker? If OFX, take a look at the contents of the file to verify that it has the correct and proper transaction information (i.e. it is listed as a BUYSTOCK and not an add shares). -Mark "JPG" <JPG[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F907A3AA-3B3D-4335-98BF-5121687CA9E6[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I am considering switching from Quicken to Money 2007 mostly because of the > unreliability of the Intuit quotes service (I'm currently running both > programs while I evaluate which I will stick with), but I've run into a > problem with Money that is a significant negative. | I am considering switching from Quicken to Money 2007 mostly because of the unreliability of the Intuit quotes service (I'm currently running both programs while I evaluate which I will stick with), but I've run into a problem with Money that is a significant negative. When I update transactions from my several brokerage accounts, although the downloaded statements clearly show the buy and sell transactions, they are imported into Money only as "add shares" or "remove shares" items with "assumed" purchase and sale prices that are different from what is accurately shown on the downloaded statements. I then have to manually correct each transaction from an add or remove to the correct buy or sell and correct the price so that the cash balance for the brokerage account and capital gains analysis will be correct. Have I set up something incorrectly in the online update settings, or is this a known problem with Money? I should mention that I have no such problems with Quicken on updating my accounts (although that program has enough other problems that I thought switching to Money would be a good move). Any help would be appreciated. |
