Cool. Having your Money files in the ProgramFile folder would cause> them out and pointed Money toward the new directory. odd behaviors. You may want to run Money as Administrator one more time as you work with those files. - quote - > I tried to apply the suggested update, I got a message that it didn't apply > to my system. > So, Ill wait and see what happens. > Thanks. > Tom > "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message > news:1pfc33938haqgcaq75p89f78t5jcf8jh5o[at]4ax.com... > > In microsoft.public.money, Tom from WI wrote: > > > > Regularly, I download a quicken.qif file from my bill paying service. | Both theMoney and backup files were in the ProgramFile folder, so I moved them out and pointed Money toward the new directory. I tried to apply the suggested update, I got a message that it didn't apply to my system. So, Ill wait and see what happens. Thanks. While this Vista patch does not say it helps Money 2004, I would apply http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929427 anyway. Be sure that your Money and backup files are moved to a spot that you will have full privileges to, such as Documents/MyDocuments. If they are in a place like ProgramFiles, Vista will create an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose RunAsAdminsistrator that time. Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. Specifically for your symptom, I would consider saving the file to your disk, and then File-> Import as a statement, until you get a better solution. |

| Regularly, I download a quicken.qif file from my bill paying service. When I double click on that file, it asks me if I want to start up Money 2004. Often, but not always, when I start up Money via this route, my check register file comes up with many transactions missing, both deposits and withdrawals. If I tell Money to Restore Backup, the check register is now loaded with all of the transactions present. Where is the file without all of the transactions coming from? This has happened many times since I installed Money 2004 on my new PC with Vista Home Premium on it. I have plenty of RAM (2GB) and platy of CPU power for this little program. Can anyone give me some clues to fix this problem? Thanks. Tom |
