| Does Money 2006 for pocket PC work on WM5? Is there a way to shoehorn any version on Pocket Money onto a WM5 device? I've been able to get Money 2004 to install but not to synch. I tried Spb Finance but found no way to select which accounts to synchronize and how far back to go. As a money user since 1997 synching my entire database chokes Active Synch and/or my otherwise perfect new Treo 700wx. Since money is one of my main PDA apps, this situation could ruin the joy of this long awaited upgrade. Any advice is gratefully appreciated. I'm sure they "could". I'd be shocked if they "do".> others to write the program that would allow my PPC to share Money > 2007. - quote - > All that is required is a slight update for the 2006 patch so it
However hard, apparently it's harder than they are willing to do.> recognizes the 2007 database, how hard can that be? |

| I suppose that they can't share the information that would allow others to write the program that would allow my PPC to share Money 2007. Because the truth is I use my PPC as a checkbook and if Money 2007 doesn't share the data I might change to another program that will. Although I will tell you that Pocket Money 2006 doesn't interface that excellent either I've been willing to tolerate it up until now. I do not understand Microsoft, so often they offer something that is really great (ActiveSync over Wireless, Pocket Money, and a working Bluetooth stack) then with suceeding versions the quality goes down and they take the good stuff away and don't replace it or patch it. All that is required is a slight update for the 2006 patch so it recognizes the 2007 database, how hard can that be? | Maybe not. Perhaps it was more along the lines of "Not many people use this. We didn't get any extra revenue for developing it. It costs us money to develop it for WM5. How will we get ANY return on that investment? What's the business case for doing the work? Maybe we should skip it..." | I don't think a thing has changed! :-( It is probably down to the old story of a)"how much will it cost to develop?" and b) "how much extra revenue will MS get?". if b) is not at least ten times a) and better one hundred times, then don't even waste your breath. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for. | The last I heard is that there wasn't any and that if you upgraded you were going to be out of luck. Has that changed at all? Has anyone as MS said 'You know, people use this, maybe we can make a program for WM5.' |
