| Alternatively, you can switch to other banks who continue to provide direct download for free. I'm considering switching my checking account to Schwab: http://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/...e_with_ic.html I already have a Schwab account which is fully integrated directly into Money. I called them and confirmed that bill pay and direct integration with Money is supported with their checking account. Schwab currently works with Money 2004, too. Wachovia just recently ceased providing downloads to M04 (on April 28). | They do provide free internet downloads. They just don't provide it for free as direct connect from Money or Quicken, *IF* you don't have a "Crown" account. The minimum balance for having one of those without a monthly fee is within reach of most middle-class families. If you're just starting out, or living paycheck-to-paycheck, it might seem like a pretty high threshold. | Oh dear, things are getting bad in bankland. I now use online banking exclusively and download my transactions from each bank's website and import into Money. The only accts I have left that allow downloads from within Money are my Citibank credit cards but who knows how long that will last. None of my banks charge a fee for downloading but if any of them try to charge me I will close that account. Somehow it seems like it should be illegal for a bank to charge you for access to your own transaction data. We always got free bank statements before the internet days. How could it be more expensive for a bank to provide internet downloads than to mail paper statements to 10 million customers? I will type my transactions into Money before I pay for downloads, cheap old fart that I am. ![]() Regards Bill Wood "Chris Cowles" <spam_magnet[at]remove-me-bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:O8Kb63riHHA.4872[at]TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... - quote - > I believe this subject has been discussed recently, but I got an online > message from Wachovia tonight: > "(trim) ... > As a reminder, starting April 1, 2007, a monthly fee of $5.95 is being > assessed to your account if you access Wachovia Online Banking directly > from within your personal financial management software. | I believe this subject has been discussed recently, but I got an online message from Wachovia tonight: "(trim) ... As a reminder, starting April 1, 2007, a monthly fee of $5.95 is being assessed to your account if you access Wachovia Online Banking directly from within your personal financial management software. This fee will not appear on account statements until May. This service is free if: - You download your account information from wachovia.com into your software. - You have a Crown Access(R) Banking, Crown Banking, Crown Classic Banking, Crown Select(SM) Banking or Command Asset Program account. .... (trim) " Note the last bit about how to avoid the fees. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |
