Why don't you just manually download the date from HSBC's website? Then,
you don't have to deal with MSN at all.

I have my .mny file in the Documents directory, which I have full access to.
The problem actually occurs after Money has been successfully closed. While
not in use the file becomes a ~randomstring.tmp file at random intervals. I
believe this is part of a background process where Money pulls data down and
uploads info to MSN. (A process I hate but seems to be required to use an
HSBC account with Money. My other online accounts don't require the passport
enabled option)

I'd consider upgrading to Money 2007 but that seems to have far bigger Vista
issues.

The .mny file needs to be stored in somewhere that you have "full" access to
under Vista. If it is in say Program Files, then Vista makes a copy of it,
allows you to do updates etc, but then does not update the .mny proper when
you are done.

Default Money file destroys itself on Vista

I have Vista and Money 2006. Every day or too my Money file will become a
corrupted .tmp file replacing the .mny file. The file needs to be repaired to
be opened. This problem only began happening on Vista.
