| I have issues with the way Money does this. First of all, there is no category for 'International' asset allocation. International mutual funds are divided among the same asset classes (large cap, small cap) as domestic funds. While I understand why this was done, most people factor in 'international' exposure as part of their core asset allocation. Second, I don't think each fund needs to be subdivided into multiple asset classes. For example, let's say I own a Vanguard Large Cap fund. While it is fascinating to me that this fund is 94% Large Cap, 3% Small Cap, and 3% Cash, I think of this mutual fund as 'Large Cap'. It's very puzzling to look at my asset allocation pie chart and find that 5% of my portfolio is cash, simply because some of my funds hold a small amount of cash assets. A large cap fund should simply be classified as large cap. My 2c...... | Frank, Generally, Money will update mutual fund asset allocation percentages every time you do an online update. For Money 2007 (and maybe 2006 and 2005) this works pretty well. You can see the percentages that Money assigns to each mutual fund by going to investment details screen and most (but not all) screens and reports will use these percentages. You can also manually change the percentages in the investment details screen, but Money will change them back at the next online update. -- Bill Becker "Frank Spina" wrote: - quote - > I have added some new fund security to Money. how do I download the asset > allocation automatically without having to do it myself. > Frank |
