Dick,

I see , thought there was manybe something obscure going on. Been in the
IT industry, first with AT&T bell labs and now my own boss for too long to
make that mistake he he he he, always split my HD's into OS and data
partitions and always backup downloads over more then one or two HD's..

Thx a lot for the help.

PS, I pay some part time people salary, and wondering is there is some way
to have this entered in MS Money without it showing up as a 'normal' expense
so it wouldn't show up in my income/expenses report, any good ideas ??

Many (most?) people keep the download on their *one* hard disk. You know.
The one that fails. Or the one that they reformat when the machine is full
of viruses. Then they show up here asking how they make Money work again.

IF you keep the download (many don't) and IF you keep the activation key
(many also don't) then you will be fine.

Dick, thx, silly me I did it that way a while back, duhhhh, brainless friday
I guess :-)

Interest 100% in the deposit

principle back to main + 80% interest back to main + 20% to Fed tax
category..

Thx !!!

Been trying to get customer product support on the line here in Jakarta for
two days, to no avail (5155151), to ask them where to buy a legal Box set.
will try again on monday, otherwise might buy off amazon and have it shipped
here..

PS why would having the downloaded .exe a problem ??

Create an Income transaction (Investment Income : Interest or similar
category) in the HSBC-Deposit account in the amount of the interest. Then do
a Transfer : HSBC-Main for the principal plus interest.

When you get ready to move beyond the trial, if at all possible, please go
buy a copy with the CD. Having the CD makes it a LOT easier to reinstall
later if you change computers or replace a hard disk or some such.

Default how to handle term deposits

Just starting to use MS money, and it does all I need I guess, still ontrial
edition but will buy soon.

Now I have a checking account in which I keep my main finances, the money I
don't need in the short term I put in what they call (HSBC) short term
deposit (1 mon,3 mon, 6 mon whatever you want) to get a higher interest
rate.

So what I am doing now is basically let's say transfer from my HSBC-Main
account to my HSBC-deposit account the amount of let's say 5000 US$. SO it's
gone from my main account and shows up on my deposit account, no problem :-)

BUT at maturity the following needs to happen, A) the principle amount of
5000 US$ goes back into the main account, the interest should also go to the
main account and tax (I pay 20% on the interest here in Indonesia) I book
against 'fed tax'. my PRoblem is how do I book the interest as Interest and
have it go from the HSBC-deposit to HSBC-main account.

I can't seems to do it, any suggestions ?
