Unable to start Microsoft Money 2005

Stick the disk into your computer, browse to it, right-click
setup.exe, and choose RunAsAdministrator.

Then try running sample.mny again.

I tried this, but it does not work. Money does not open at all. I see the

Money logo, then it closes. When I try & install the Vista application
compatibility update, it says "The update does not apply to your system" and
Money will still not open.

Make sure the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929427 update is
applied.

Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in
IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced.

Open Money by double-clicking the sample.mny file in your install
folder. Close Money. Open Money again by right-clicking its launch
icon and choosing RunAsAdministrator. It will do an update. Close
Money. Reboot the computer. Then open Money and check that
Help-> About... says you then have version 14.0.*.1105.

Make sure your .mny and .mbf files are in your Documents folder.
Then you should be able to open or restore your existing files.

Same thing I guess, the version should be 16.0.*.1303.

Using Vista 32-bit. I was able to install Money 2005, but I am not able to
start the program. When I click on the program icon, it acts like it wants
to start, but then closes. I do not get to see if there is an error message
or not. I have tried right clicking and selecting "run as administrator",
but that does not work either. I uninstalled it per the instructions and
tried to install Money 2007, it does the same thing. Can anyone help with
this problem?
