Yes, if that disk says Money 2000 on it, I expect you could do that.> the old version of Money 2000 is V 8 > If this doens't help, I have the installation CD from the original Money > 2000....can I just install it on the new PC? I would install the Vista update from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929427 even tho it does not mention Money 2000. Be sure that your Money and backup files are moved to a spot that you will have full privileges to, such as Documents/MyDocuments. If they are in a place like ProgramFiles, Vista will create an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose RunAsAdminsistrator that time. Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. To install, I would copy the entire CD to a new folder on your new computer. That works around a problem that Money 2000 sometimes has. Then right-click setup.exe inside that copy and choose RunAsAdmistrator to install. Right-click the Money icon and choose RunAsAdmistrator to let updates happen. There may well be no updates available now. Then reboot the computer. You may need to uninstall Money 2006 first. I don't know. |
