| OMG! You have no idea how long that has been annoying me and one simple click and it now works. Thank you so much! Be sure that your Money and backup files are moved to a spot that you will have full privileges to, such as Documents/MyDocuments. If they are in a place like ProgramFiles, Vista will create an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose RunAsAdminsistrator that time. Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. Right-click the Money icon and choose RunAsAdmistrator to let updates happen. | Hello Cal, Thank you so much for replying to my message and for your help. My Money file is in My Document\Document folder. I started Money the way you told me by right clicking on the icon and choose RunAsAdmistrator. That worked perfectly! It updated my Money program and allowed me to open my file I used on my other computer. I guess whenever I get the message there is an update I can do what you told me to update the Money program. I can't thank you enough for the help. I really appreciate it. I checked to see if the SSL2 protocol was enabled and it was already checked. I hope you have a great weekend! Take care, Jim "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Flyerfan27 wrote: > > > I am trying to update my Microsoft Money 2005 program, my operating system > > is Vista Home Premium. | Hello, I am trying to update my Microsoft Money 2005 program, my operating system is Vista Home Premium. Here is the message I am getting: “An update is available for your Money software. To install this update, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrator group. Log off Windows, and then log back on as a member of the Administrators group. Restart this program to install the update. For more information, see Windows Help.” My problem is I am signed in as an Administrator and I am the only user on this computer. I thought the problem was that I did not assign a user password for signing in so I tried that. This did not work. I have tried updating by using the sample.mny file, a new file and a file created on another program. Can someone help me with my problem? I would deeply appreciate any help I can get. Thanks, Jim |
