I'm going to try YNAB, too. Probably the Pro version. All the fancy features
of Money 2007 aren't worth much to me -- especially considering how poorly
implemented parts of the software are. All I care about it keeping tracking
of what's coming in, what's going out, and how to manage it. Microsoft and
Intuit should have fixed their basic products before continuing the features
onslaught.

Yes, you are right about the marketing approach, but the concept
behind the tool is good, I think. It has a couple of question marks,
in my opinion, but it is worth a try. I downloaded a 15 day trial
version from CNet, and I just loaded all my March/April transactions
from Money (manually, though).

It might very well be the best budgeting tool I have used. But don't
expect a lot of features. The software is nice, but is extremely
simple (maybe too much). But that might be it!! Maybe this is what I
needed to be able to use a budgeting tool at all!!

I've seen in the forums that some people are long time users of
Quicken and/or Money. I think I might end up using both programs,
since they do different things for me.

In any case, I will have my eyes open for how Money 2008 budgeting
piece is. I hope they improve it from 2007!

haven't uploaded my data yet), I run into this piece of software, YNAB
(www.youneedabudget.com), which started as an Excel spreedsheet
concept. It has great reviews, and I like the idea. However, you need

money-back guarantee, but I thought that maybe someone in this group
had tried it and had any comments about it.
