| That's all well, but just out of curiosity, does Microsoft really listen to consumers? I ask because I never see any evidence that they do, and find it difficult to communicate with them regarding this and other issues with their software. I have seen no instance where complaints on these forums have lead to meaningful improvements in future updates. The issue of multiple selection is really very significant. The elimination of it in Money, Outlook 2007 (no more sending multiple items to Junk Email Senders and other lists), etc. makes working with these programs much more cumbersome. I believe that virtually every activity in an application should be executable on more than one item at a time. After all, what is the purpose of using a computer if not to streamline activities? Unfortunately, Microsoft just doesn't seem to get it anymore. They are continually removing useful functions like multiple selection and replacing them with glitzy junk like transparent windows and extremely annoying security alerts. Please pardon my venting, but I am very frustrated after spending $hundreds on software updates that have only made my work more difficult. | Thanks for your response, but Cash Flow just doesn't do it. It is cumbersome and difficult to isolate the effect of just a few items as they come up on there due date. Guess I'm way behind the times, since I upgraded from Money 2000. Still, it is just incredible to my why Microsoft would eliminate this function. How difficult could it have been to leave it in. I noticed they did the same thing in Outlook 2007. You can't send multiple items to the Junk Email Senders List anymore. Items have to be added one-at-a-time. This gets extremely tedious, when 50 or more spams make it past your filter, every time Outlook is opened. Why can't the simple act of multiple selection be left alone? I just don't get it! | I think that was last there in 2004. Does Cash Flow give you what you want? -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for. | So far upgrading to Money 2007 has not caused any serious problems for me. However, I am extremely disappointed with Microsoft's decision to eliminate a very simple, useful function. In past versions one could highlight multiple items in the Bills section and easily determine how the account balance would be affected if the selected bills were paid. I have discussed this problem with several friends who also used the function extensively. For this reason alone, most of them will not upgrade. Has no one out there noticed the deficiency, or is it just something my small group of friends used? Is there another method, of which I am unaware, to accomplish the same thing? That is, monitoring the changes in account balances resulting from paying more than one bill. Otherwise, I'll have to dust of my calculator. |
