Eureka, I think! I did all that but still no joy. Then re-established
the link with nationwide through Online Services manager - and it has
worked.

Haven't dared try it again, just in case my joy is dashed.

Thank you.

Cal Learner has posted replies many times for similar problems, so try the
following. No guarantees.

Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in
IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced.

If still no go, in IE, I would go to
Tools-> InternetOptions-> Security-> TrustedSites-> Sites list and
uncheck "Require server verification... ". In the trusted sites
list I would add these:

moneycentral.msn.com
fdl.microsoft.com
passport.com
passport.net
login.live.com
g.msn.com
money://

Yet another PS!

I have just transferred my Money file to my laptop, and it contacts
the bank fine from there, so it would seem to be something wrong on
the PC.

Still needing help!

Default smrtinet.ini and won't connect to internet

I hve once again caught the smrtinet.ini problem about which so much
has been written here over the years! (but, so fara as I can see,
nothing recently)

Anyway, I get the message that "money encountered error processing the
downloaded file ("SMRTINET.INI") when I try to update my bank account
(nationwide) and my share prices.

I have tried resetting the connection data, but cannot get beyond the
screen saying "log on to nationwide building society"

Also if I go into the relevant account in Money and try "to connect to
bank", it won't. Indeed, I have just tried typing an internet address
it fails to make any connection.

I have tried re-installing money, but with no success.

This is driving me up the wall as I have come to rely too much on the
programme!

Can any one, please, help?

Thanks

Gerald
