Default Re: Money loosing Invoices

I am running XP Home. Nothing has changed on the machine that I can think
of. I can see all my invoices except for the last 3 or 4. I created one
this morning, printed it and it is not in the list. And yes I am saving
them. I have been using MS Money for about two or three years and this is
the first problem I have had.

Unfortunately my backup have been written over with the missing invoices so
they are of no help.

I did not know they are separate files I will have to look when I get home
tonight.

Thanks
Tom

Did you recently convert to Vista? There may be some permissions
thing involving an invoice folder or file permissions. Vista has a
tighter permissions model than XP.

Here is an idea: Look in
"C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Money\12.0\Invoice"

If you don't find that, try
"%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Money\12.0" and see if
you can see an Invoice folder. Check permissions and ownership of
the files. If you use Windows Explorer, don't use the quotes. If you
use a command window, do use the quotes.

Each invoice, I was told, is a separate file. With Windows Explorer,
set up to see the user and permissions. See if there is something
different with the older ones. In particular, I was wondering if
they were owned by a different user name.

Let us know what you find out. I am not running Business, and I am
still on XP, so I am not trying this out first.

Another thing would be to run Money by right-clicking the launch
icon, and choose RunAsAdministrator. See if you can see your
invoices then.

Here are a couple of KB articles that could somehow help, even if
you are using XP:

Are running Vista? This may be a folder permissions thing.

Default Money loosing Invoices

MS Money 2004 is loosing my invoices. The accounts receivable balance has
the total for the invoices but they are not in the invoice list.

Thanks
Tom
