| Of course you are correct. For a WD -> Transfer switch the Transfer seems discoverable in the standard ways. For the opposite switch, Options|Change Transaction To seems to do the trick. I wonder why this comes up from time to time? | All I can say for sure is: this question comes up occasionally and turning off TF always solves it for the OPs. So, I recommend it to people. The track record is pretty good on it solving people's issues. The last time it came up, I did test it (can't say what version that was under) and saw the same issue that it wasn't immediately apparent how to change it. Perhaps I didn't try enough of the right voojoo. Can't say. I'll revisit tonight under M07 to refresh my addled memory. | You will need to just try it. The TF puts a new qualifier on the transaction, it can be a withdrawal, deposit, or transfer. But a transfer transaction doesn't seem to let you change it to a withdrawal, that is, unless you turn off the TF. Although there are times you can change the transaction type to one of the others using the options drop down on the TF, but not always. This UI inhomogeniety has been a thorn for me forever, and Dick's trick seems to resolve things. | You'll have to be surprised elsewhere, DIck -- it shows, is selectable and typeable. I do it all the time. | I'm not sure Withdrawal will show Transfer in the Pull Down on TFs. You might be able to type it. But it wouldn't surprise me if the TFs prevent that. | I had to think for a while to figure out why this wasn't a trick question. Then Transaction Forms occurred to me. Most users who have used Money for very long end up with them off and they never go back on. This is one example of why that is. Glad I could help. thanks for the feedback. | I don't think it is a trick question! I've been wanting to do just this forever (make a transfer a withdrawal) and never thought of turning the stupid Transaction Forms off to do this. So now I have another powerful tool in my arsenal to fight bad programming. Thanks, Dick. "Dick Watson" wrote: - quote - > Maybe this is a trick question. > Sure. | Maybe this is a trick question. Sure. (Turn off Transaction Forms first if they are turned on,) Edit the transaction and change the category from, say, Bills : Credit Card to Transfer : [name of Money Credit Card Account]. This assume you are using Advanced Register. | Last night I paid one of my credit cards from my checking account. For whatever reason, I forgot to enter it into MS Money as a transfer from my checking account to my savings account. And, I also paid it via ePay. Is there any way in MS Money 2006 Premium to change the withdrawal into a transfer? Rod |
