I didn't say that it never works for anyone. It even works for me,
sometimes. I download from some banks, but not from this one.

I did check out several posts going back to 2004 mentioning this exact
problem. There wasn't any reliable solution then either. The problem has
nothing to do with any bank or OS. It's a Money problem, no question.


But for the benefit of others who run into this, here's what I did that
fixed it:

1. I edited the account, changing the bank to xyz.

2. Then I tried to set up online banking for it, which failed of course
because Money doesn't know about any xyz bank.

3. Then I edited the account again and changed it back to the original bank.

4. At this point, I was able to set up online banking.

5. Then, Money created a different account at the same bank! (Don't ask me
why.) This new account had the online access.

6. I merged the new account back into the old one from which it somehow
spawned.

Success! At least, it seems to work now.


I don't know what's going on with this error, but what appears to be
happening is that if the first attempt to set up online banking for an
account fails for any reason, Money refuses to try again, giving that bogus
"temporarily unavailable" message. Removing the bank associated with the
account seems to clear out saved information and allow another attempt to be
made. I'm only guessing of course, but that seems to fit most of the facts.
I don't know what to think about the duplicate account though.

one - is useless, as I am unable to create a new account with this
institution because account setup is temporarily, i.e., permanently,
unavailable.

Looking through the ng archives (on another server), I see that this has
been an ongoing problem for more than two years! What gives??
