I have an idea for a workaround where 3 is the category, and food is> accounts etc. to force through a specific sort (i.e. "1 Tax", "2 Rent", "3 > Food") but that is not a very elegant solution, and you're not able to simply > typy 'f-o-...' if you want the food category, you have to remember it is > called '3-f-o...'. > Does somebody have a better idea? the sub-category. You could then type f-o... It sounds hokey to me, tho. I would not recommend it, and I doubt that you would really want to do it. |

| 1) No. 2) Besides going with the flow, no. "Henrik" <Henrik[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7CF0E8DC-C78F-4D6A-9B2E-A62887386A2A[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Is it possible to define the default sort order somehow? > Does somebody have a better idea? |

| I like to have my income and expense categories, accounts etc. appear in a specific order based on how I like to review my financials rather than as the default alphanumerical sort MS Money 2007 uses. For example, I'd prefer to have my expenses appear as: Tax Rent Food .... and not as Food Rent Tax which the standard alphanumerical sort will do. Is it possible to define the default sort order somehow? The workaround I'm using is to assign prefix numbers to all categories, accounts etc. to force through a specific sort (i.e. "1 Tax", "2 Rent", "3 Food") but that is not a very elegant solution, and you're not able to simply typy 'f-o-...' if you want the food category, you have to remember it is called '3-f-o...'. Does somebody have a better idea? |
