Instead of disabling "Protected Mode" for all internet access, try adding
the following to your Trusted Sites list (which by default will have
Protected Mode turned off):

money://
moneycentral.msn.com
microsoft.com
login.live.com

Actually, in my case, it wasn't rebooting that did the trick...

Internet Options> Security tab> just above custom level button - I unchecked
"Enable Protected Mode"

And Money INSTANTLY worked! Help screen back. Accounts updated in seconds.
Whew.

I had the same issue with Vista and Carl repied with the same response. I
believe it may have required a reboot before mine worked after enabling
SSL2. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

SS L2 was *not* checked. So I checked it. And when RunAsAdministrator,
Money at least tries to look for the Help site.... The little circle just
spins and spins. - All websites (microsoft.com, msn.com, live.com respond
fine when called from my IE7 browser. When I try to update (download my
statements), it tries and tries and tries and finally gives up.

I've only had Vista a couple of days and don't really have much installed on
it and have not experienced any other problems with hardware or software.

Any other ideas or thots on where I could look for clues?

Check that the SS L2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in
IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced.

Right-click the Money icon and choose RunAsAdmistrator to let
updates happen.

Default Money 2007 from xp to vista - can't do internet update

On XP, I had Money 2007 all set up and functioning. I click on update and it
went out and got my account information from 4 different financial
institutes. Never a problem.

I just installed it on Vista. Copied My Money.mny over to Vista the Vista
machine. Told Money to open this file and all my accounts and information
are there just like on XP.

BUT, it does not appear to understand that I have internet access. Updating
fails. If I click on Help, I get the right hand pane that is a variation of
a 404 web page "Navigation to the webpage was canceled". I have it set to
use my default browser (ie 7) and "connection settings", of course, tell me I
have internet access cause... well... I do! I've checked everything I can
think of.

I'm know I'm missing something painfully obvious. Could some kind soul tell
me what it might be?

(Oh and my Money is set up to use no password and NOT to use msn live.)

Thanks in advance.
