But if you insist on purchasing on line, PLEASE, Oh Please, keep a copy of
the download, et al., so you don't wind up back here in a jam when your hard
disk takes a powder or you buy a new computer or whatever and you can't
figure out how to reinstall.

you can also purchase online from Microsoft directly, no rebates for
Canadian. A bit of a rip off that. If you know someone in the USA,
provide their address and have rebate check sent to them.

Do you download stock quotes or data from banks or credit cards? Do you pay
bills on-line via Money? If so, you should note that that these features
sunset two years after installation of Money 2007 Deluxe. If you use any of
those services and do not want to have to buy a new version of Money in 2
years, I'd suggest you stick with M2002.

Thank you W. Wood for your response. I'm going out to get a thumb drive and
will backup 2002 many times. Your info was great. I'll let you know how
things go...if I have the guts to do this. I really would be devastated if
any file was lost.
I also see that I posted another question after my original post, the boards
never confirmed this first post. Now I know (I think!), that I CAN ron M2007
as a standalone program and import my files. Were you readind my mind W.

I suggest that you make several backup copies of your working Money 2002
file (xxxxxxx.mny) on both of your hard drives, a CD and a USB flash drive
if you have one before doing any upgrading. Then you can safely use your
current .mny file to test M2007 and your data will be safe if something goes
wrong or if you decide to stay with M2002.

Personally I use M2002 and would not consider switching to M2007 but you
should try it for yourself and see whether you like it. You can test M2007
on your current computer without removing M2002 or try it on a new one. I
run M2002 on XP, I assume it will run on Vista too but I have no intention
of using Vista until all bugs have been worked out.

Bill Wood

Default money 2002 to 2007

Love 2002, have the new , never opened 2007 boxed program. Should I upgrade?
Any bad experiences? I basically use to track bills, use the bill pay
calander and, at tax time, a few reports. I can't lose any files here.
ANY DETAILED help with backups before I do this, have CD writer and second
hard drive, floppy drive, would be so helpful.
Hate to just let the new program sit and gather dust.
Also, plan to get a new computer, XP or Vista..still on yhe fence about
that. Will I be able to install 2007 on my second machine?
Thanks in advance for any help.
