| This same thing happened with my Epays. One day it all of a sudden started back-dating my payment dates 4 days. It is using the processing date instead of the payment date even though I don't have that box checked in the options. My bank doesn't debit my account until the check clears, though, so I don't want it to do it this way. I think it is a software change that got introduced in an update rather than a change at my bank. This is pretty common. I've had it happen with a couple of different banks.> dates when I am transfering money between accounts. This even caused me > a nice NSF charge. NOT happy about that. However, why all of the > sudden can you no longer transfer money without a 4 day wait period. I > even called my bank and they couldn't tell me (Compass). For example, > today is the 7th. Any suggestions would be greatly > appreciated. <set handwaving and speculation fullSomeone at your bank, probably a drone in the IT department at the national headquarters, updated something that has to do with their relationship with Microsoft and MS Money. In the process, he took a default on some form somewhere that says, "Electronic transfers take (4) days to clear.", despite the fact that they clear in minutes. <turn off handwaving and speculation Was that vague enough? You'll never be able to track down the guy responsible. He probably doesn't even know what he did. If he does, it's because he was too lazy to look up and enter the correct clearing period for all the different types of transactions. Alternatively, the bank's VP of Keyboards* conciously made a decision that it's "safer" to have a long period instead of an accurate one. (*Everybody at a bank is a VP, right?) Your only hope is to open a formal request with the IT department at your bank, asking them to resubmit the correct values to Microsoft, so Microsoft can distribute updates. |

| Is your "Yes" that it is an XFER you are entering? The settings are governed by what the bank sends to Money as far as what the bank's requirement are. So, they may have changed these a few months ago. I would discuss this with your bank. -Mark "jbrown" <jjm[at]bedellfirm.com> wrote in message news:977B079E-FD36-411D-9812-8143C071DC87[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Yes, it always has and that is the one that will delay exactly 4 days > everytime. | Yes, it always has and that is the one that will delay exactly 4 days everytime. It used to work until a few months ago so something changed. I guess I just have to do it through my bank's website if I need the money right away. Defeats the purpose of Money to me, but I don't know what else to do now. Thanks. | But, does the bank allow you to enter an XFER within Money? Or do you have to enter it as an EPAY? An EPAY will be delayed some number of days. The settings for online payments are determined by the bank. So, it may be that they are not telling Money the correct settings. -Mark "jbrown" <jjm[at]bedellfirm.com> wrote in message news:00DEC081-1068-46FB-A6D7-43A11BCE92BF[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Thanks for the reply. | Yes, I can and have been doing it manually. It was nice to not have to do it twice and I am just curious why all of the sudden it stopped when I never had to do that before. That is what you want, right? Money probably puts a four day hold on the transaction because the systems are doing the transfer and are subject to messup. Is it so hard for you to do a manual transfer in Money after you do the direct transfer? Please don't say that would be doing it twice. Sure it is, but so what? You accomplish what you want. Isn't that the bottom line? And why should you expect a $25 or $30 product like Money to do ALL these wonderful automatic uploads and downloads for you and never screw up? It amazes me the amount of time Money users spend trying to correct things in Money because of all these automatic downloads. I'm a 12 year Money user who inputs his data into Money manually and loves the product. Steve |

| Thanks for the reply. My bank does allow me to do a transfer on the day of entry. That is my problem. Money won't. If I chose to do one today, Money would kick the transfer date to the 12th. If I go online and do it through my bank's website, I can transfer today. It used to work in Money. Now it forces me to transfer 4 days later. It is so weird. | Hi! A few months ago I noticed Money 2006 started messing with my transfer dates when I am transfering money between accounts. This even caused me a nice NSF charge. NOT happy about that. However, why all of the sudden can you no longer transfer money without a 4 day wait period. I even called my bank and they couldn't tell me (Compass). For example, today is the 7th. If I do a transfer, I can set it up but the date says the 11th and I can't change it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
