 Re: Putting Microsoft Money 2006 Application on a Thumb Drive Generally Windows apps can't be installed to removable media and expect the machine they run on to have lots of information from the setup/install in the local machine's data (registry). Applications can be designed to get around this (see http://www.u3.org for some information on one initiative to support this) but Money hasn't been/probably won't be until things change and Microsoft decides to get onboard some initiative like U3. However people have reported successfully putting the data file on a USB flash drive. For the data file, you would want to go for speed. 256 MB up to 2 GB would be fine. There may be downside too, so keep backups. |
