To get to the username, press the right-left online update icon. This> but not the user name, or log in name. I have accounts a Schwab under my > social security number and my wife's. Under Common tasks, press "Manage your passwords". Both the user ID and password are changeable. You can create a download for more than one account at the same institution, at least I was successful at doing this with Vanguard. My wife and I have have individual accounts plus a joint account. The settings were not straight forward and I did this some time ago with a little searching in this newsgroup but I have two different updates for Vanguard. |

| Yes, it is. Older versions had an entry field for login name. 2007 doesn't seem to, or I can't find it. | If you change your login (account) name at Schwab, you'll have to change it in Money as well. Is that what you're asking about? -- Michael Gordon "David Schwartz" <who4ever[at]optonline.net> wrote in message news:c%dGh.1650$it6.293[at]newsfe12.lga... - quote - > OK, how do I change my online user name. I am not sure what you are asking. Depending, you may want to go to> but not the user name, or log in name. I have accounts a Schwab under my > social security number and my wife's. AccountList-> ManageOnlineServices. After setting up online operation, you may have to use AccountList-> MergeDuplicateAccount, which merges a new online setup with an existing non-online account. Keep an extra copy/backup of your file in case you want to undo something. Good news: Money 2007 keeps more than one backup of your file-- even by default. I think the default settings can be improved further: In M07: Tools-> Settings-> BackupSettings I suggest checking x Automatically backup my Money file every time I close Money Save in [a place on your hard drive ] x Ask me before backing up each time* x Compress Backup Files Keep only the _20_most recent backup files [adjust to taste] x Perform scheduled backups every _14_ days Save in [a USB flash drive location] x Ask me before backing up each time* x Compress Backup Files Keep only the _2_most recent backup files [adjust to taste, but Money 2006 does not automatically trim to USB as it should] Then periodically, perhaps once per month or more, copy your latest backup (uniquely named by Money) to a CDR. With XP, this can be a copy and paste operation. Otherwise use the burning software that came with your CDR drive. I strongly suggest use of a USB Flash drive rather than floppies. They are bigger, so you don't have to swap media to back up. Plus they are much more reliable (but not failure-proof). * The reason I have Money ask me, is that I don't want to back up each time I exit. If I went into Money 5 times in a day, I would not want to back up 5 times, nor would I want to delete 5 other backup files. You will be given the choice to BackUpNow or to Postpone. |

| David, This is how I set up my wife's and my Fidelity account. It should probably be similar for Schwab. Sign into Money, DO NOT check the "I want to sign into Money directly... check box. Go to your Account List and on the left, select Add a new account Choose an account type > Investment Schwab is listed under "C" for Charles Schwab & Co and also under "S" for Schwab Retirement Plan Services. Choose yours. The account set up is pretty straight forward from there on If your account is already set up, just add your wife's sign in information. Money will then download both accounts. If you have any problem, post back. Hope this helps. -Kevin "David Schwartz" <who4ever[at]optonline.net> wrote in message news:c%dGh.1650$it6.293[at]newsfe12.lga... - quote - > OK, how do I change my online user name. | OK, how do I change my online user name. I see how to change my password, but not the user name, or log in name. I have accounts a Schwab under my social security number and my wife's. I used to have to download my information, then change the login name to my wife's social, and then download again. I can't find the window that used to modify the online settings. -- David Schwartz Commack, NY |
