| Exactly. That's probably why they don't feel they should supply the functionality for free any more. More and more people use it, more demands are made of it and more effort is required to maintain it. Not a good business proposition! They've managed to build a market based on a free product but that doesn't oblige them to support it with a free product forever. I think the best you'll see is MS (or someone else) producing a high end 'paid for' product to exploit the market that MS have created with their Freebie. (SPB and Inesoft are already cashing in on this - another reason for MS to drop the free competition) "Display_Name" wrote: - quote - > Then they discontinue the windows mobile platform when it makes more and > more sense with rapidly growing penetration in that area. | bottom line is I am seeing no movement in the Money products... there was some smart budgeting that seemed to me it was so smart it was stupid "Mike F" wrote: - quote - > Exactly. > That's probably why they don't feel they should supply the functionality for > free any more. | Calendar and task function in money makes about as much sense as having some limp money budgeting features in Outlook. Come on... the picture for MS Office has always shown separate colored pieces of a puzzle coming together because each application serves a purpose. Then they discontinue the windows mobile platform when it makes more and more sense with rapidly growing penetration in that area. Windows mobile also serves a purpose in relation to money, tracking expenses on the road or just keeping track of cash transactions are two examples of the top of my head. What is going on here … seems the powers that be are content with doing next nothing with this application and pay somebody 100$ to update some icons , distribute it and laugh at the people who buy it. Then I see that there is going to be an aggressive outdating for this app to force you to upgrade when to be honest there is no real reason to. |
