| Was the M01 Standard file from a non-US version? (Not sure upgrade from non *Business* editions to *Business* editions is supported.) If you need help really desperately, have you considered opening a support case directly with Microsoft? | I am experiencing the same problem converting MSMoney 2001 Standard file to MSMoney 2007 Business and Home. The error message is: "Money cannot open this file because it was created using a different version of Money." I successfully converted the 2001 file to a 2004 version (the trial version did not work), but experiences exactly the same problem when importing the 2004 file into 2007. I need help!!! | Hmmm. My M07 Deluxe opened/upgraded my M04 file without further ado. What M07 edition are you using? Deluxe? Have you tried a File|Repair of a copy of your M04 file before attempting the upgrade? You say "tries to convert it but fails." Describe "fails": does it crash? Emit messages? If message, what messages? | I've just bought MS Money 2007, formerly using MSMoney 2004. I try to open my money 2004 file using money 2007 and money 2007 tries to convert it but fails. Ive had a look on the Microsoft Site and found a knowledgebase article which suggests Money 2004 and earlier files cant be opened with Money 2006 and later. It suggests downloading a trial copy of Money 2005, using this to convert the 2004 file and then using Money 2007 which will read a 2005 file. Money 2005 tries to convert the 2004 file and fails. Anyone solved this problem or have a workaround? PS: I let Money 2005 download the money program update before I used it. |
