| I played with the settings and still have the same problem. Here is a specific example: I budget to spend $400/month on groceries. As of 2/20, I've spent ~$280. My cash flow still predicts that I will spend $400 on groceries through the end of the month. I want it to predict that I will spend $120, making $400 the total between actual and budget. Likewise, I don't have the same problem budgeting for overtime income. I budget to make $400/month on overtime. As of 2/20, I've made $280. My cash flow predicts that I will make another $120 before the end of the month. This is what I want to see. The optimistic, pessimistic, and average all act the same way in these estimates. Any help is appreciated. | There's a setting in cash flow forecast that allows you to adjust how budget items are projected: either early in the period, or late in the period. You also can adjust the duration of the period. | I have budgeted amounts for income and expenses that are not recurring bills. In the cash flow forecast, the total income for the month is forecast to be the total planned for the month minus the total already accounted. The total expenses for the month always forecast the full amount from the budget, regardless of how much has already been spent in the budget category. Why do the income and expenses not work the same way? How can I make the expenses work like the income? What am I doing wrong? |
