| Art, For your second item, M07 incorporated a "feature" that automatically reconciles investment account downloads for which there are no new transactions (i.e. positions only). There is no option to toggle this feature and early feedback on it was generally positive. As for your first item, once the update is complete ("spinning icon stops"), Money does perform transaction matching and other background tasks but are you saying you get the warning message after waiting 15 minutes? If I understand you correctly, your observation is similar to mine in that it is best to wait for Money to complete the aforementioned background tasks before viewing downloaded statements. The length of time this takes appears to be directly related to file size and system performance. I check my CPU Usage % since it appears Money maxes it out until it is done. I've even observed it "falling asleep" (CPU zero%) when auto-reconciling investment positions where movement of the mouse is enough to wake it back up and finish. If you hadn't noticed this before and don't mind checking, see if your situation is similar. It may shed some light on the behavior you're seeing. | I remember see other complaints about this but do not remember seeing a solution. I am running Money 2007 on XP Home Media edition. Both are at the latest SP level. All of my downloads are direct (I do not have MSN password on the system). When I perform an update I notice the following behavior. 1) After the updating now spinning icon stops (and today it stopped and I waited 15 minutes); the first account that I attempt to accept a transaction I am notified that I can not at the present time. All I need to do is back arrow to the original page and come back into the account at try again and this time it works. I did "report it to MS" but the response always is that they have no information about some obscure res error. 2) My various Fidelity accounts always report with number of stocks/mutual funds to check. When I check the first one of these accounts and accept the current account status, the remainder of the account to view disappear. Obviously, the first item is getting a little old. I reported it to the MS help but the response was they closed it as not reproducible. They seem to be more interested in closing paperwork than fixing problems. Art |
