BTW, the Custom checking account was grandfathered from FirstUnion.Wachovia no longer lists that package on their web site. The various types available are listed at the URL below. But since even the Free Checking lists Online Banking as free, I suspect that attribute refers to online banking on the web, not through Money. My previous post lists the account types that connect with Money for free. http://www.wachovia.com/personal/pag...0_1427,00.html |

| Hi Bob, I have on-line BillPay through Wachovia now, and like Chris, for free. The issue is that to use it I connect to 'zWachovia' through Money. Apparently, their new credit cards don't work on 'zWachovia', and billpay is not an option, even for a fee, on their other Money connection called 'Wachovia Bank'. Thus, it is not possible to use checking, credit, and billpay all at the same time (in Money) from Wachovia (or so they are saying). If true, I'd say it's quite a mess. Chris... I assume as a former First Union customer, you are also using zWachovia? Would you please confirm? If you've got free billpay through the 'Wachovia Bank' connection in Money, then they have indeed misled me, and I'll make a bigger stink. Otherwise, I'll probably either dump them altogether, or at a minimum dump their credit service and stick with zWachovia for free billpay. Thanks, J... Good luck. do not pay a fee, and never have. Deferral of that fee DID require minimum balances in the past. I think that got requirement dropped at some point. In any case, it was not an outrageous minimum. I can but do not use Billpay on the Wachovia web site. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Like Chris, I just use Wachovia to track a checking account. I don't use billpay much, but when I do, it's through Chase, which I can initiate from within Money. I work with other FIs as well, but only via direct connect. I have nothing to do with MSN Money. -- Michael Gordon "Chris Cowles" <spam_magnet[at]remove-me-bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:%23CwF$ywUHHA.3592[at]TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... - quote - > Went through all that myself, including origins with FirstUnion. | - quote - > Same for me, but I think the Jason WANTS to sync with MSN Money.
Hi Guys... thanks for your input. I think you are just the people I'd liketo talk to. I actually have no real interest in MSN Money per se. Although I'm befuddled that the synchronization doesn't work, I've done fine without MSN for the last 9 years of Money use. I gave it a shot today as a preliminary step towards trying out MSN Billpay with Money 07, which brings me to my original 'Wachovia Woe'. Sounds like you are both also Wachovia customers, so perhaps we can compare notes. I'm a Wachovia customer of the First Union variety, that came on board with the merger. At that time, my on-line banking with Money switched to zWachovia, and has stayed there, where until recently, I continued to enjoy free downloads AND free billpay from Money. (Note: the only downside of the switch I observed was that split transactions in scheduled bills started losing their splits on payment). Last fall, my Wachovia credit card, which was really an MBNA card re-branded, stopped getting on-line updates through Money. This was a big deal to me as I like to see the money go as I spend it. I complained to Wachovia, and they told me MBNA was phasing out support and that I should therefore drop the MBNA Wac card and get the All-New-All-Wachovia-Super-Terrific-Card that will Work-Great-In-Money. So I did. Turns out that the new Wachovia credit card won't work on zWachovia, that I can't have credit on Wachovia proper and other accounts on zWachovia, and that if I switch my checking and savings accounts over to Wachovia proper, I'll loose my free billpay. So... basically, either I can't check both a Wac credit and a Wac checking accent in Money, OR I can't have free billpay through Money. ARGH. I told them this was unacceptable, but nobody has come up with a solution, and when push comes to shove, it's a big pain to totally switch banks. Bottom line... have you guys got a better M07 solution with Wachovia (i.e. one that allows, checking, savings, credit, and billpay all in M07)?? How dumb would it be to give up zWachovia billpay and count on MSN Billpay as a viable alternative? My MSN experience today is not filling me with confidence. Thanks, J... | I've been using MSMoney since 98 and always avoided using a Passport/Windows Live ID (till today, long story of recent Wachovia Woe). At any rate today I enabled a windows live sign in for my money file in M07 and then went to settings/recieve account updates from MSN Money, and turned that on. I expected the account info and recent data in my money file to then show up in the accounts section in MSN money, but it did not. M07 says it synchronized with MSN Money today, but if I login to MSN money using the same windows live ID through the web, there are no accounts. What am I missing? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks, J... |
