Yes Mark--when in doubt reboot. I rebooted, and I also uninstalled and
reinstalled Money 2007 and I tried to find any entries in the Windows
Installer Cleanup Utility (there aren't any there) that I often recommend
when people are uninstalling apps like Office because of problems they can't
correct other ways. I help a lot on the Vista groups but that wasn't the
issue.

I got through today, and the simple answer to my problem was that with
Money 2007, people are being blocked from signing in because:

1) They need to turn off their Firewall--this is a 2007 specific issue not
addressed by an MSKB yet.
2) Then they need to go to File> New and set up their money folder.

LOL Mark I wasn't trying to call Convergys. I was using the Money Support
phone numbers and I couldn't get through to Money Support. You're right; it
is in Canada and it's good support. They would put you in the que; que
would say 45 minute wait, and 3-4 hours later you had been disconnected or
were still listening to generic elevator music.

My experience with Vista, XP, Office support is that a high percentage of
the time if you're based in the US you're going to India. This is no
reflection on the competence of people from India whether they are in India
or anywhere else. It's a statement about the Convergys contractors
outsourced in India and their level of knowledge on XP, Vista, and Office
that I've seen over the years.


BTW the caveat was that when you are using Money 2007 you should turn off
your firewall while using it but maybe the experience is different for
different individuals. I just know that once I did that and went to
File> New to set up my account it accepted my Passport/Windows Live address
and password.
