I was able to copy the directory over to my e drive and everything still
seems to work fine. I'll problably have to clean the registry when/if I ever
do this again on this system. I'm more likely to do a clean install of
everything into Vista whenever i finally decide to do that.

Oh yeah, for those who care, I'm on XP SP2 with everything from WU
downloaded and installed.

I had the problem where MSMoney 2007 deluxe would not install and would say
something about not being able to install components. It didn't say anything
about downloading, but I'm guessing this solution might work.

Before trying this, I tried resetting my security settings. I also had
tried clearing my registry of all MSMoney references. Neither worked.

In the mnyinst.log in my temp directory I found the following text just
before a failed statment: RunSetupCommand returned : 80004005

Searching this, (feeling lucky on google) I found
support.microsoft.com/kb/281320

It hit the nail on the head. I had split my hard drive into C for the
operating system and have all my programs on E. Once I changed my default
programfilesdir back to c:\program files, Money was able to install just
fine. Just in the wrong place. I think I can work around that.

I was able to open Money, it updated, and it converted my 2004 money files.
Now on to seeing what else it does.
