| Thank you for stating the obvious, which was not obvious to me when I became disturbed that I could not work with my Money info on XP and 2000 Pro. I do appreciate the view from outside my box. |

| No mention on the box that M07 **works** on Win2k Pro is because it **doesn't** work. The box describes the limited combinations that work, not the much larger set of combinations that don't work. Microsoft's view has always been that Money is designed for home users/home use and that Win2k was a business operating system for use by businesses. Only businesses continue to use Win2k. The few home users who ever used it are all on WinXP by now. By your logic, why isn't it a "crime" that M07 doesn't work on Windows 3.1 or Windows 95? <droyce26[at]comcast.net> wrote in message news:1170956430.317815.282130[at]q2g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Money 2007 Deluxe is loaded on Home XP computer but will not load on > my Work computer which has Micrsoft Professional 2000. | I've never known any program that is backward compatible? No earlier Money version will open a later version of Money. It doesn't make sense to think it would. There are changes in each new version that the earlier version doesn't know anything about. As for running 2007 on Windows 2000. I would think that it should, but since that is an earlier version of Windows it is possible that it wouldn't. Microsoft should be able to tell you that. | Money is not backwards compatitable. You can not open the 07 file with the 05 program. cindy <droyce26[at]comcast.net> wrote in message news:1170956430.317815.282130[at]q2g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Money 2007 Deluxe is loaded on Home XP computer but will not load on > my Work computer which has Micrsoft Professional 2000. | Money 2007 Deluxe is loaded on Home XP computer but will not load on my Work computer which has Micrsoft Professional 2000. Money Tech Support and the Box says it loads on XP. (no mention that it won't load on Professional 2000) Then I try to restore Home Moneya 2007 backup onto my remaining Work Money 2005 program. It restores but "will not accept the password". My password is same for both 2005 & 2007. This leaves me with not being able to follow my Money on my work computer. Does anyone have a work around or way to have the passoword work when restoring a 2007 file on a 2005 program. Last night I loaded Money 2005 on myHome XP which also has Money 2007 and I still can nnot get mylatest files up into 2005. Money 2005 is able to load on Microsoft 2000 Professional. It is a crime to Money users that 2007 will not load on 2000 Profesional / and 2005 will not backup from 2007 Your help and concurrence Gus_35 |
