| Try adding the following sites to "Trusted Sites" in IE to see if that helps: moneycentral.msn.com login.live.com You could also see if it is specific to the login you are trying. Try creating a new login (hotmail, or live) and see if that one will work consistently. -Mark "KevinS" <KevinS[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:29411EE1-88EF-44DD-8803-05B6376469EB[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > "Mark" wrote: > > I would suggest going to Windows update to get any updates that are > > needed > > (especially if you are not using SP2 of XP). > > > I don't know if this will resolve the problem. > > It is more likely some type of connectivity issue (changes to your > > firewall, > > router, or other security/connectivity software/hardware) > > > -Mark > Hi Mark, > I keep the PC fully current with MS updates. I just double checked again, to be absolutely positive. Yep, I am fully current. I also keep my virus and spybot definitions current too. Oddly enough, I am able to login and use MSN Live Messenger without difficulty. So some things work, and others fail. And those that fail appear to work at different times. I'll keep trying. Maybe something happened at msft's end with the rollout of Vista or something. Thank you. KevinS |

| I would suggest going to Windows update to get any updates that are needed (especially if you are not using SP2 of XP). I don't know if this will resolve the problem. It is more likely some type of connectivity issue (changes to your firewall, router, or other security/connectivity software/hardware) -Mark "KevinS" <KevinS[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3161ABC8-B822-473C-96E5-E75F37AB1D2A[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > "Mark" wrote: > > I'm not experiencing any problems accessing the Portfolio on WinXP-SP2 > > with > > IE 7 > > Since the URL is login.live, it may be that there was problems with > > Passport > > (Windows Live ID). > > Have you tried again? > > > Can you login with your Passport elsewhere (for example http://msn.com or > > http://live.com )? > > And then try going to the portfolio. > > > If you still have problems, what changed since you were last successful? > > > -Mark > > Mark, > You raised some interesting questions. > Using IE 7 and Win XP, > On MSN.com, I can't sign into the "Login". > I can't login into Hotmail either. > Interestingly, I could login to "Live" to reply to your message. > That is, I hit the reply button to your message and was redirected to > login. > I logged in, and here I am typing a response. > I tried the same sequence using Firefox 2.0. > I had no problems. Using IE 7 and Win XP, On MSN.com, I can't sign into the "Login". I can't login into Hotmail either. Interestingly, I could login to "Live" to reply to your message. That is, I hit the reply button to your message and was redirected to login. I logged in, and here I am typing a response. I tried the same sequence using Firefox 2.0. I had no problems. I got in everywhere. The only challenge is that MSN Portfolio doesn't look at nice in Firefox as it does with IE. Now, I have been having problems logging into MSN Portfolio for the last week. Nothing, that I am aware of, has changed. I did access MSN Portfolio last night using IE. It was a rare exception. I don't know why it succeeded then and not now. I notice that status bar is different today than it has been in the past. Waiting for http://moneycentral.msn.stock_porfolio... That's different from prior status messages. This whole thing seems weird to me. Best regards, KevinS |

| I'm not experiencing any problems accessing the Portfolio on WinXP-SP2 with IE 7 Since the URL is login.live, it may be that there was problems with Passport (Windows Live ID). Have you tried again? Can you login with your Passport elsewhere (for example http://msn.com or http://live.com )? And then try going to the portfolio. If you still have problems, what changed since you were last successful? -Mark "KevinS" <KevinS[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AD79E316-9929-4B3D-A4B3-359089ECC739[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Hi FrankV, > The link you provided is different from I am receiving. | Many people are having a problem with moneycentral, including me, but this is the first time I've seen the problem you are getting. It is something to do with the connection to the actual server that has the data but people are getting many different errors. I see the basic screen picture but as it tries to connect to the server it automatically shifts to the network status page: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...&wa=wsignin1.0 Frank "KevinS" <KevinS[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 927C171-7367-4ECE-A97E-250E3FCF0837[at]microsoft.com...- quote - > Hi, > For the past several days, I am unable to connect to MSN Portfolio.
