Following up to my own post:

1) I upgraded to Money 2007 Home 7 Business.
2) I ran the "Tax-Related Transactions" report.
3) Numerous "Reinvested Dividend" and "Reinvested Capital Gain"
transactions showed up in red as negative transactions.
4) I edited one transaction, changed the category from "Reinvested
Dividend" to "Reinvested Interest", changed it back to "Reinvested
Dividend", and saved the transaction.
5) The value changed to positive.

Based on my DB Admin background, I'm _assuming_ that I simply forced the
database to rewrite the record, and it did it correctly. I don't know if
that would have worked in Money 2005, since I didn't try it before I
updated.

The acid test will occur with the next download from Ameriprise that
contains that type of transaction. Ameriprise might be coding the
transaction wrong, or Money might be recording it wrong, or both (or
neither, I guess).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I went checked, and that option isn't available in my copy. I have the
2007 version on order. Maybe upgrading will fix it. But I won't hold my
breath.

Weird. Try going to
Tools-> Settings-> CategorySettings-> InvestmentCategories and under
DividendIncome: select DivIncome or whatever you like.

Default Reinvested dividends show up as negative income

I'm using Money 2005 for Small Business.

Like most people, my investment dividends are reinvested. Ameriprise
downloads them as "Reinvested Dividend".

When I run reports, these transactions show up as negative expense
transactions.

Have I misconfigured something? My accountant doesn't like the reports, and
I don't like paying him extra to figure them out.
