Earlier ones would overwrite a single backup on exit with default settings, so it would then be important to File-> Restore before exiting. Entering the missing transaction by hand is simple enough, and that is what most people would choose to do. - quote - > 2. Why do my balances still match - shouldn't my balance in Microsoft Money
It depends what balance you are talking about. The balance in the> be off by the $223.03 transaction I removed by mistake? Or is that > transaction just "hidden" now but still recorded somewhere in Microsoft Money? Balance column, on the right side of the register, is computed, and should *not* match after your action. The Downloaded Balance at the upper left and the Bank Balance at the upper right, are copies of what the bank said your balance was at the time of download. Most thoughtful people will want to switch to "Advanced Register" if they have not done so already. Tools-> Settings-> AccountSettings-> DisplayAllAccountsInTheAdvancedRegister would do that for all of the accounts. - quote - > Thanks for any help or pointers. |

| I accidentally deleted a record from my account register for my bank account. I was trying to cancel an edit I had made to a particular record, and hit the "Delete" button by mistake. The transaction I deleted posted on 11/1/2006 and was for $223.03. What confuses me is that my posted balance on my bank account's website does still match exactly the bank balance listed in Microsoft Money. I have two questions: 1. Is there a way to get that record back? I would like to keep it tracked as an expense in my budget. I'm not too worried about this single record, but want to understand what to do if I accidentally delete records again. 2. Why do my balances still match - shouldn't my balance in Microsoft Money be off by the $223.03 transaction I removed by mistake? Or is that transaction just "hidden" now but still recorded somewhere in Microsoft Money? Thanks for any help or pointers. |
