| Unless you know this for sure, I seriously doubt that the download key is kept by the banking institution. I would think this would be kept by the inquiry program, MS Money, in this case. I have done multiple updates one behind the other and have never had duplicate downloads. | I have Capital One also, I never have problems with Payee name change. but I do sometimes get duplicate downloads. How often do you download? Capital One does not know what you have already downloaded from MSN Money per se. If you download often this is the cause. You are updating before Capital One does their update. The duplicate downloads are just a thing you have to live with. "wizard_chef" <wizardchef[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F2ACBE87-63C6-4E66-860A-B5F5A199528E[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > That is interesting and that's what is seems like, like the key that tells > the program the entry has already been read has been reset. > This is a major hassle since the duplicates are not always easily > recognizable. | That is interesting and that's what is seems like, like the key that tells the program the entry has already been read has been reset. This is a major hassle since the duplicates are not always easily recognizable. I have to go to the bank's site, download a .csv file into Excel, and do a line by line comparison. Hopefully, they will get their act together at CapitalOne. I have not had this problem with any of the other several accounts that I download. Sometimes providers mess that up, and start with some new IDs. The workaround, in that case, would be to Delete/Void the older transaction, or to Void the newer one. |

| I have the same problem with CapitalOne credit card account. I have a hunch the problem is with them, but they point the finger at Money. If you figure this one out, please drop me a forward. | I have Money 2006 Deluxe and I bank with Capital One. When I download the updates for the account, I have 2 different problems. The first problem is that the system downloads transactions that were already downloaded 2 or 3 days before. The second problem is that the system keeps assigning the wrong Payee to some of the transactions. Because the system assigns the Payee, it is greyed out and there is no way to change it. Occasionally these two problems overlap in that the duplicated transaction is also assigned to an incorrect Payee. I have deleted Money 2006, rebooted, and have re-installed it. I have started a new Money file. The problem is still occuring. Any ideas? |
