My understanding is that the only way to do an import correctly and get the transfers right, is to import all the affected accounts at the same time. Since the checking account is littered with transfers to other accounts like credit cards, paypal, investments, etc., I'd basically have to export almost every account I have and reimport everything. All for a penny. :-( Bruce. |

That was unexpected. It said it couldn't add the split due to insufficentdisk space! The drive has 58GB available. - quote - > Consider a 1 for 65535 split....
This one added but the account register was hosed. The share counts allchanged to 65535. But the penny was still there and the Add Shares 1000 was sitll undeletable. - quote - > Try setting the price to zero
No change.I removed the split and the price zeroing and the register is back the way it was. - quote - > and blanking the symbol.
There's no symbol because it's not a real stock/fund. It's a 401(k)retirement account that I was tracking with a fake investment with a fixed $1.00 per share price. Bruce. |

Didn't work. Using the Account Update to set 0 merely added a Remove Shares> the AccountUpdate to 0 shares. of 999.99 to the register. Now the penny is back again. I'm back where I started. Thanks Dick. That's where the penny was coming from, as a result of mechanging the Sell from 1234.55 to 1234.56. So I fixed the Cash Register and now the account value is exactly $1000 (1000 shares). But I still can't delete the Add Shares 1000 I added. The mentioned error prevents me from doing so. The only way I can delete the Add Shares is to change the Sell 1234.56 back to 12345.55. Bruce. |

Update. It seems Money thinks I have zero shares in that investment whichis why it refuses to show in the Account Summary, and so no Account Update. So I decided to try an Add Shares of 1000 shares (for a date prior to the 12345.55 Sell). Now the investment shows in Account Summary but the amount of shares is exactly 1000. I've extended the decimal places and it shows 1000.00000 exactly. No fractional shares at all. So I went back to the register and now I can change the Sell from 1234.55 to 1234.56 but the Account Value doesn't change from $1000.01 when I do. The penny is stuck. So I try deleting the 1000 Add Shares and it refuses. Says "Some or all of of 'ING Retirement' aquired with this transaction have been sold or removed. Before you can delete this transaction for the purchase of or addition of 'ING Retirement', you must first delete any sale or removal transactions." If I first change the Sell 1234.56 back to 1234.56 then I can delete the Add Shares 1000 again, but that just puts me back where I was, stuck at $0.01. Bruce. |

The account name shows in the portfolio, but no investments do. I can't find any way to display whatever shares there may or may not be in that investment. Bruce. |

| Bruce, Is it possible to sell 1234.551shares or 1234.552 shares and so on. It's possible that you have a fractional share in the account that Money is displaying as .01. You may be able to see the fractional share by changing the current view of the portfolio with that account in it, and changing the Quantity column to more than 2 decimals. Let us know how you make out. -Kevin "Bruce." <noone[at]nowhere.com> wrote in message news:eGxY0M0RHHA.3948[at]TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... - quote - > I have a 401(k) account with 1234.56 shares in it at a $1 a share. Uh oh. That explains it. There's nothing on that screen. I go to theAccount Summary page and it's largely blank (except for the menus). On that page it just says "The account currently has no investments in it. You can add new investments here". As a result of the blank page, there's no Account Update at the bottom. Other accounts do have that Account Update at the bottom, just not the one I need to zero. Any ideas? Bruce. |

| I have a 401(k) account with 1234.56 shares in it at a $1 a share. I want to sell all 1234.56 shares, but if I try Money won't let me do that, claiming that would cause "the share balance to go negative at some point". It will let me sell 1234.55 shares, leaving $0.01 in the account. I'm trying to get it to zero before I close the account. How can I get rid of that last penny? Thanks. Bruce. |
