| Thanks Kevin, I went to www.live.com but could not locate the 'Account' link or 'Settings' link. Probably because I am on a MAC. | Thank you Mark, Your insight is a little more enlightening then some of the others where. I looked into things a little closer and it seems that you are correct in the bank estimating when the payee will receive the check. Money is only reporting that information back to me. Certainly somewhat confusing at first! I guess my issue is that Money forces me to use the adjusted date instead of the date I want to use. If I go on-line with my bank and pay the bill thru their web-site the bank uses what ever date I wish, though I do get a message about the estimated time of delivery and do I want to change the date. Thanks for your help Mark "Mark Horn" wrote: - quote - > The question to ask is whether or not a bill submitted through the > bank's website would result in the same delay. | The question to ask is whether or not a bill submitted through the bank's website would result in the same delay. I suspect the answer is "yes". If it is, then clearly there's nothing that Money can do about it. Money is accurately reporting back the delay imposed by the bank. I know that my bank recently made some changes to the way they do bill pays. The previous date (which was immediate) was the date the the bill was cut from my bank. Currently my bank estimates when the payee will receive the check and reports back that date. I got accustomed to the way that they used to do it, so it's taken a bit of transition to the way they do it now. IMHO, the current mechanism is more informative. I don't think that either way is working "wrong". But of course, the point is that this is a function of my bank and not Microsoft Money. And that there's an easy test to demonstrate it to yourself. | GsrRwr, This might not have anything to do with it but it might be worth a shot. Go to www.live.com, in the lower right hand corner is "Account". Click on Account and sign in. Click on "Settings" in the left side panel. Then in the center panel, click on "Registered Information". Under "Home Location" there is the setting for the time zone. Hope this helps. | Tell me again how this is a Bill Gates/Microsoft problem? If you elect to do data interchange between your bank and Money, you've bought into the belief that your bank cares if this works right. Money certainly can't control what the bank does. And, contrary to this belief, the bank doesn't care if it ever works right. | Bill Gates just can't make it easier can he? Ever since my bank upgraded their software I am having the worst time with e-pay's & x-fers thru money. Can someone help me understand why? When I submit a payment via Money the program tells me it has to change the date because it can't be processed on that day. For example; Today I requested that 3k be transfered from my savings to my checking. In the past the transfer would go thru and there was no issue. Now I get a message that says my bank doesn't have enough time to do the transfer and the date must be modified to 2/6/07 (That's Tuesday 4 days from today). I try to make e-payments, for example today I tried to pay my gas & electric bill which is due on 2/18/07. Today I submitted that the payment be made on 2/15/07 and Money tells me it can't process the payment until 2/20/07. This is 5 days later?? What is going on with this? |
