Killed another hour and here is what I have, nada, zilch etc. 1- My initial passport was pre-2006, in Feb 2006 the server went down and I changed my pwd, that is when I lost all my data. I used the "changed pwd" to order 2006 online since I thought it was time to upgrade anyway...but when I set up the file I chose "do not use passport". So I believe the file is still able to be accessed (or converted) unlike the original file which was tied to passport and is dead forever. 2- I don't see sample.mny on any of my drives. 3- I think you're correct on your last statement, but I thought I would call the president first since I probably have a better chance of getting through :-) |

Typically people installing Money report that disabling Norton forwas insufficient. It needs to be uninstalled, the Money install done, and then Norton can be reinstalled. That's not to say that this is the cause/solution of your current problem. - quote - > I'll try again but I think I'm sol. BTW if anyone tries this with w/ a

I went through the whole process but mny will not recognize my passport pwd, account is "enabled" but when I try to enter that pwd into mny it won't work. I think it is looking for the pwd that I changed away from on the night the server went down. I do have nortons but I disabled it. I'll try again but I think I'm sol. BTW if anyone tries this with w/ a dialup then they better be young when they start. |

Instead let Money 2006 create a new Money file, with that old Passport. Money 2006 that you downloaded via the and installed should will do an update to the proper version via the internet. Then you should be able to open or restore your existing files. |

| Not much at posting but here is the story: -Thought I would try MSM in about and liked it, was not familiar w/ passport but signed up. -All good till one night I couldn't get to my files, changed passwords messed around and no luck. -next night found out the passport server had went down, then discovered what passport was, and since I had changed passport in the iterim I lost 3 yrs data. -purchased 2006 but would NOT use passport again, starting over. -going well again, until the HD crashed, had to reload, but I had purchased MSM online. Still had the original email thanking me for the purchase, but in order to download again I needed passport. -I can logon to passport, but it looks like it is not the original passport because MSM will not log on to passport in order to let me activate, so I get the msg for "trial expired". Same email, but it doesn't like the pwd, tried re-setting...etc. -If anyone can help then I'd appreciate it, otherwise I'm outta here and back to quicken. I've spent an entire week trying to get MSM to work and my patience is gone. |
