| I still cannot reproduce a problem in Money 2007 using these transactions. Note: I used MSFT instead of XYZ :-) And it was in a brand new file. Did you try these transactions in the Sample.mny file or a brand new file as well? Was there something unique about the investment? Was it create as a Stock or some other type? I'm assuming these were all manually entered transactions. -Mark "Howard" <Howard[at]Home.com> wrote in message news:dldir2dnbg0309an9af0st49is81eoi94t[at]4ax.com... - quote - > Here is what I had: > 2006-12-18 XYZ Buy 1,000 $19.94 > 2007-01-16 XYZ Sell 1,000 $21.00 > 2007-01-17 XYZ Buy 500 $21.43 > 2007-01-17 XYZ Buy 500 $21.52 > 2007-01-18 XYZ Sell 400 $17.87 > 2007-01-18 XYZ Sell 600 $17.92 > 2007-01-22 XYZ Buy 500 $18.93 > 2007-01-22 XYZ Buy 500 $18.94 > The transactions for the 22nd killed things. > On Thu, 25 Jan 2007 09:36:04 -0800, "Mark" <abcd[at]abcd.com> wrotG: > > I cannot reproduce this in Money 2007 with the Investment Performance > > module > > added to the Home page. > > I tried entering 6 entries for this month. 4 buys and 2 sells all on > > different dates (prior to today) > > The home page came up fine. > > Restarting Money came up fine to the home page. > > > So, there must be some missing step. > > Can you reproduce this in the Sample file? > > If so, what transactions did you add? > > > -Mark > > > > "Howard" <Howard[at]Home.com> wrote in message > > news:e4bgr25cfccv7n60jujdi6u9re6nt2svdk[at]4ax.com... > > > Thanks for the advice. | I cannot reproduce this in Money 2007 with the Investment Performance module added to the Home page. I tried entering 6 entries for this month. 4 buys and 2 sells all on different dates (prior to today) The home page came up fine. Restarting Money came up fine to the home page. So, there must be some missing step. Can you reproduce this in the Sample file? If so, what transactions did you add? -Mark "Howard" <Howard[at]Home.com> wrote in message news:e4bgr25cfccv7n60jujdi6u9re6nt2svdk[at]4ax.com... - quote - > Thanks for the advice. | Thanks for the advice. As mentioned in my previous posting, there is a bug in 2006 and 2007. If you display Investment Performance on the home page and have more than 4 or 5 activities against a single investment, Money 2006 will stall and Money 2007 will crash. Removing Investment Performance from the home page resolves the issue. It has nothing to do with downloads, manual entries, or the Microsoft home page. Money just can not display more than 4 transactions (maybe 5) against a single investment in the Investment Performance on the home page. Presumably, Investment Performace will work again correctly at the start of the next month. -- Howard On Thu, 25 Jan 2007 03:28:35 GMT, Alan Biddle <APBIDDLE[at]UNITED.NETwrotG: - quote - > Howard, > As a data point, I have M2007 Deluxe, and no problems with downloads > today or this evening from Fidelity. > I will mention a quirk which might be worth a quick look. | Howard, As a data point, I have M2007 Deluxe, and no problems with downloads today or this evening from Fidelity. I will mention a quirk which might be worth a quick look. Sometimes some of the accounts get a bit out of sync, usually in the way Money and Fidelity keep track of cash in different ways. In cleaning up the amounts, I have twice used the Remove Shares function. Both times, Money crashed, asked to send a report to MS, and then exited. Restarting brought things up normally, and with the changes I had made manually. However, in Money 2004, it not only crashed, but did as you are experiencing until I restored from a backup. Perhaps you have a situation it is trying to correct with a Remove Shares? Probably not helpful, but I thought I would mention it. -- Alan |

| I tried again, this time entering the transactions manually. Money crashes again. Someone else mentioned that something on the server is causing these crashes. I think that is the problem. -- Howard On Wed, 24 Jan 2007 16:43:36 -0600, Cal Learner-- MVP <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrotG: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Howard wrote: > > This morning I did a bunch of downloads which seemed to work ok. Repairing the file does > no good. -- Howard So from the AccountList page, UpdateNow and de-selecting Fidelity succeeds. De-selecting all but Fidelity crashes the program, and requires you to restore to an earlier file. Is that Fidelity Investments rather than Fidelity Net Benefits? In any case, I would go to Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServiceSetting and select ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. This appears to be a global (inter-file) setting. Download again. I don't expect it will fix the problem, but it seems worth a try. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911941/en-us tells how to capture a log file. If that succeeds before the crash, the log file could be of use in experimenting, and it could be of use to Fidelity or Microsoft in trying to help you with that. The second of the "FidelityInvestments * RS.txt" files could be copied to a *.ofx filename, and File-> Import-> DownloadStatement of that file could be tried for troubleshooting or other use. |

| This morning I did a bunch of downloads which seemed to work ok. When I opened Money later in the day, it crashed and kept on consistently crashing every time I opened it. I restored to an earlier version and tried the downloads one by one. It appears that my download from Fidelity is the culprit. Chase, Citi, and Wachovia are okay When Money opens, it gives a message "working". Then the home page appears. As soon as Money tries to gets its update from the Money server, it closes without any error messages. Repairing the file does no good. -- Howard |
