Which makes sense, doesn't it?

There is more than one way to handle this. To do it with a single
Buy transaction, you could enter the Quantity. Enter the fee as a
commission. Enter the Total including commission. You could use
<ctrl> K to bring up a calculator to compute the Total. Let Money
compute the price per share. That makes the most sense. It seldom
makes sense to enter the Price yourself when you are dealing with a
mutual fund.

You could just enter the Quantity and Total. Let the fee be included
in the computed price.

With two transactions, you could first enter the fee as a payment
into the Cash Transactions register or an OtherExpense into the
Investment Transactions register.

Default ROTH IRA and commissions

I'm trying to balance my ROTH statement and match amounts. Each
quarter, shares are purchased but there is a initial sales charge that
shows as a percentage. When I try to add this to the "buy" entry, it
adds the commission to the total instead of subtracting it. If I don't
do this, I have a dollar amount higher in Money vs. my statements.

Is this a glitch where commissions are only subtracted from the
proceeds in a "sell" situation? Or am I forced to just make a manual
entry to correct and balance?
