If you're not already aware, you can change an imported transaction and link it to an existing transaction. It's not an efficient use of your time, though, to do that multiple times to the same transaction. Better to use OFX, or download QIF files in a way that minimizes the duplication contained in them. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Thank you both for your help. I really appreciate the info about double / triple importing which sounds like it can happen in the qif format. | Dick Watson: Any chance that this could be added to your FAQ? It's asked enough and the answer given enough that it'd be much easier to just refer them to the FAQ than to have to answer it again. Perhaps some combination of Chris answer below and my answer previously: http://groups.google.com/group/micro...a188eb4e2f8bb7 ? | OFX is better. The file includes account and transaction identifiers. Money will match it to the correct account automatically (you might have to link it once) and will not import duplicate transactions. The definition of duplicate in this case is 'already imported'. That doesn't refer to transactions you manually created. QIF requires you to ID the account every time, and will import the same transactions every time you import a file. It has no knowledge of what it imported before. Money will import either. It will even import QFX, but you might have to edit the first line or two of the import file. (QFX is a modified OFX format.) -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Jim" <jim[at]myemai.com> wrote in message news:OUhW5MdPHHA.5012[at]TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... - quote - > I need to routinely import transaction into Microsoft Money 2005 Business > Edition.
