Yes...I've tried that several times, to no avail. However, I finally got
it to work. I had to US entries... (1) USD $ and (2) US Dollar US$.

I renamed (1) to n/a . and set (2) as base currency. then i exited the
program, came back in, renamed US Dollar to $, and walla, I got it to work.

Thanks for the help!

Do you have accounts in different countries with diferent currencies?

Traditionally outside the state the americandollar is refer to US$, canadian
CA$, etc.
You can try tools menu / settings /program settings / currency tab or sub
menu and choose US dollar.

yes...windows settings is fine. when i go to list of accounts, all the
money has US$. I have checked my windows setting.

it first occured when I tried using SPB for downloading to my PDA. it
somehow changed the currency symbol in this file. but I couldn't get sbp
to work well, do I uninstalled it. however, I have never been able to get
just the $ symbol back.
