Default Re: Money 07 LP dumbed down more?

Working with it more I see the problem is that you cannot have one rate of
return determined automatically by your current allocation, and another
determined by a fixed assignment. I do not recall whether or not that was
true with previous versions, but assume so.

I was hoping to project current returns based on current performance, and
post-retirement returns based on something more conservative. I can do the
same by assigning a specific number to current returns that matches the
projection.

Chris:

Not sure why you're seeing that problem. I use the LP extensively and
have two different rates in my files for pre and post retirement.

I didn't try changing mine in the production file, but I still see both
rates everywhere I see any and in the yearly snapshots I see them being
applied as appropriate.

I just changed both in a test copy of the file. All seems well here as
regard having two separate rates of return.

Default Money 07 LP dumbed down more?

Do I recall correctly that Money Deluxe used to permit different rates of
return for pre-retirement vs post-retirement? That no longer seems to be
the case.

I tried to change my "Before Retirement" expected returns to current actual
returns, and my "After retirement" to 6.5%. Money 2007 won't allow that. If
you change one rate, it changes the other.

If that's not a malfunction, I don't have a clue why the periods would be
listed separately.
